Ideas for Increasing Family Participation

As Neal Moon brought up in the “business meeting” at this past weekend’s Family Reunion, we are looking for your ideas and suggestions to increase interest and participation in the family reunions – ways of getting the word out, additional or alternative events and/or dates for the reunions, etc.

Thanks to Allen for getting this up so quickly. I don’t think there are any easy ways other than everyone talking it up better with their respective families. It’s not always easy, but we need to convince our relatives of the importance of attending. I will volunteer the fact that I just spoke to a niece and she said that the three of them would have loved to have gone but didn’t know about the reunion. They should have, I assumed they did. Let’s get our immediate family to come, at least ask!

Kids events or yesteryear: 3-legged races, sack races, etc. (Russell & I have access to ribbons for prizes)
Offer photo ops of individual family groups
Pedal tractor obstacle course (kids ages 3-9)
Power-point presentation “Lets go back to our roots”
a 10-15 minute presentaion on historic Hampton & the Pearl family
“Bring a photo” to share: possibly a contest guessing which family member(s) in photo…
